Osteopathy, or Osteopathic Manual Therapy, is based on the belief that most pain and disease are related to dysfunction of the neurovascular and musculoskeletal system and that structure and function of the body are interrelated. All elements of the body are interconnected and impairment in one area can cause impairment elsewhere. Osteopathy relates to each patient individually and the body as a whole.
The is a very powerful therapy that attempts to get to the cause of pain and dysfunction. Skilled palpation and a detailed knowledge of anatomy, physiology and bio-mechanics guide the osteopathic therapist to assess and restore balance within and between all the systems of the body to restore health. Osteopathy attempts to get to the cause of the issue.
An osteopath uses a wide array of manual approaches to reduce and resolve strains, stress and dysfunction and increase neurovascular flow in all areas of the body to achieve balance and promote self-healing.

Massage is one of the oldest healing arts: Chinese records dating back 3,000 years document its use; the ancient Hindus, Persians and Egyptians applied forms of massage for many ailments; and Hippocrates wrote papers recommending the use of rubbing and friction for joint and circulatory problems. Today, the benefits of massage are varied and far-reaching. As an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, smoking cessation, depression, and more. And, as many millions will attest, massage also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness.
It involves the application of soft-tissue manipulation techniques to the body, generally intended to improve circulation and increase flexibility and mobility. It can also relieve muscle tension and pain, help clear lactic acid and other wastes from the body and increase oxygen and nutrient flow.
All therapists are registered in Ontario and can provide a registration number and receipt.
